Nessarose Thropp is the second and youngest child of Frexspar the Godly, the younger sister of Elphaba Thropp. She has the inability to walk, and has been using a wheelchair since birth, as her mother had been sucking on milk flowers while she was pregnant with her second child, a suggestion from her father to avoid the green skin from their first child. Now, she is off to Shiz University, with her older sister taking care of her. Although she loves Elphaba dearly, she is ashamed of her sister's green skin.

This verse basically revolves around the happening's in Nessa's life in the following years at her time at Shiz after the disappearance of Elphaba. She is now the heir of the Eminent Thropp title, and is even more shamed of her sister now for defying the Great Wizard.
Nessarose is now the Eminent Thropp. She rules over Munchkinland, stripping all the Munchkins of their rights, thus the title "Wicked Witch of the East", as her sister is the witch of the West.

She starts by joining a sort-of gang, her first activity being the action of burning an abandoned building by herself, as a sort of 'initiation'. Unbeknownst to her, the building wasn't abandoned. Fortunately, nobody was harmed, but she was caught and charged for arson and attempted murder, staying in prison for 36 months.
